Crossroads Ladies Bible Studies
What an exciting time in history to be a woman of God! Each of us has been uniquely gifted by God and has a special place in the body of Christ. Our mission at Crossroads is to provide opportunities for personal spiritual growth, to build and strengthen relationships within the body, and to reach out to the community with the message of Christ's love.

We offer relevant Bible studies for women in every season of life. The studies are typically available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. and Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. Our semesters coincide with the CISD calendar and are divided into two distinct sessions. Our Spring Session runs from January through April; with varying summer activities, and the Fall Session from September through November. Join us for either one or both!

This is a great time of growing in God's word while making new friends and strengthening relationships with old ones. We encourage you to invite a friend or relative who just might need a little girl time! Whether you are simply exploring what it means to be a believer, beginning your faith journey, or have walked with the Lord for a while, there is a place for YOU!

Spring 2015 Ladies Bible Study classes kick off on January 27th and 28th.
Childcare provided birth - PreK

NEW this Spring!

Not ready to start a study in January?
Or (since some classes are shorter than usual) not ready to end in March??

The following classes will begin mid-semester and
registration for these will open 2/20/15:

FAMILY OF JESUS (Tuesdays, March 24 to May 5)

DANIEL (Part 2):  Words of Prophecy (Tuesdays, March 24 to April 28)
(PLEASE NOTE: Registration for Daniel Parts 1 & 2 is open NOW!)

PRECEPT—Titus (Wednesdays, March 25 to April 15)

PRECEPT—Ruth (Wednesdays, April 22 to May 6)

TUESDAY CLASSES

Daniel (Part 1):  Lives of Integrity
TUESDAYS, January 27 - March 3
Time:  9:30 - 11:30 a.m.
Cost:  $16
Author:  Beth Moore
Leader:  Dianna Lee and Ruth Ann Mitchell

Description:
This study will no doubt leave us marveling at the Word of God but, more importantly, at our God of the Word!  In Part 1 (Chapters 1 – 6) of this powerful Old Testament book, we’ll be amazed at how a few godly men forced into slavery in a pagan nation, thousands of miles away and thousands of years ago, still stand as powerful role models for living God-glorifying lives of impact and integrity … even though they lived in a dark and godless culture that will seem eerily like our own.  Even if you’ve done this study in the past, you’ll be amazed at how much more relevant it seems TODAY!

PLEASE NOTE:  Daniel (Part 2) – Words of Prophecy (see details below) will begin March 24, but you can register for either or both of these powerful studies NOW!  For those who register for Part 1 AND Part 2, the $16 cost will cover BOTH classes (since both use the same workbook).

Homework Commitment: 5 lessons per week/ 25-30 minutes each day

Daniel (Part 2):  Word of Prophecy
TUESDAYS, March 24 - April 28
Time:  9:30 - 11:30 a.m.
Cost:  $16 (No additional cost for those who participated in Daniel – Part 1)
Author:  Beth Moore
Leader:  Dianna Lee and Ruth Ann Mitchell

Description:
In Part 2 (Chapters 7-12) of Daniel we’ll look some of the most powerful and relevant passages of prophecy in all of Scripture!  Through the strange dreams and supernatural visions of a prophet and king in ancient Babylon, God gives us amazing insights into TODAY’s headlines and a sense of the nearness of the return of Christ!  But, we’ll primarily marvel at the unparalleled nature of our eternal God who created time and knows the end as well as the beginning, and who has told us all we need to know and IS all we’ll ever need!  Through it all, we’ll find peace for all seasons and all circumstances, no matter how dark the world around us grows.  Even if you’ve done this study before, you’ll be surprised at how these prophecies are even MORE exciting and relevant now!

PLEASE NOTE:  Although this class does not start until March 25, registration is open now, and Daniel (Part 1) is NOT a pre-requisite.

Homework Commitment: 5 lessons per week/ 25-30 minutes each day

Children of the Day
TUESDAYS, January 27 – March 31
Time:  9:30-11:30 a.m.
Cost:  $16
Author:  Beth Moore
Leader:   Karen Ream

Description:
In this newly released 9-week study based on 1 & 2 Thessalonians, we’ll embark on a missionary journey with Paul, Silas and Timothy.  Along the way, we’ll learn how to join together as a body of believers – living as “children of the day” – who take our stand against the enemy, claim our ground, fight for victory, and unite in Jesus’ name.  We’ll be reminded that our circumstances and conditions are not coincidental, but that God’s ways are perfect and His timing impeccable.  So, whatever crises we’re facing, whatever doubts or fears, we’ll receive encouragement for living the Christian life now and hope for when Christ returns.  This won’t just be a Bible study – it will be an adventure you won’t want to miss!

Homework Commitment: 5 lessons per week/ 25-30 minutes each day

Made to Crave:  Satisfying Your Deepest Desire With God, Not Food
TUESDAYS, January 27 – March 10
Time:  9:30 – 11:30 a.m.
Cost:  $16 (includes softcover book and participant’s guide)
Author:  Lysa TerKeurst
Leader:  Jeanine Weber

Description:
Craving isn’t a bad thing!  God created us to crave more of Him, but too often we mis-place our cravings...seeking the temporary satisfaction of worldly pleasures, such as food, instead of lasting spiritual satisfaction.

If you’re struggling with unhealthy eating habits, Made to Crave will equip you, through the power and truth of God’s Word, to:

  • Break  the “I’ll start again Monday” cycle
  • Stop beating yourself up over the numbers on the scale and make peace with your body
  • Discover how weight loss struggles don’t have to be a curse but, rather, can be a blessing in the making
  • Replace justifications that lead to diet failure with empowering go-to-scripts that lead to victory
  • Eat healthy without feeling deprived and grow closer to God through the process

So, let’s not make another New Year’s resolution that focuses simply on trying to change what we do.  Instead, let’s allow scripture to change our hearts, our minds, and our perspective...of God, food and our bodies...not just for 2015, but for a lifetime!

Homework Commitment:  5 lessons per week, 20 to 25 minutes per lesson

WEDNESDAY CLASSES

Encountering Jesus:  A “Simply the Story” Study
(No homework - Childcare is limited)
WEDNESDAYS, January 28 – April 1
Time:  9:30 - 11:30 a.m.
Cost:  None
Leader:  Melanie Meissner

Description:
Join us for a 9-week inductive study of various encounters with Jesus as each week we study different men and women in New Testament scripture who had a personal encounter with our Lord.  We’ll first look at each story in “oral style” and then dig deep to search for the treasures that await those who are willing to look!

“Simply the Story” is a unique method of studying the Bible using the oldest teaching method known – oral story telling.  Come and hear a familiar story with a new twist.  See it dramatically portrayed, place yourself among the characters and learn what you can glean from hearing Jesus’ own powerful words.  Listen as if hearing these stories for the first time, then let the Holy Spirit lead you to understand the treasures they hold for personal application.  You’ll learn to “hear” with fresh ears as the Bible comes alive and you are transported to Judea, circa AD 28-30.  (No books, no commentaries, and no prior knowledge necessary; just you and Jesus and those He touched along His way to the cross.)

Homework Commitment:  No preparation, no homework.

Homework Commitment: 5 lessons per week/ 45-60 minutes each day

What Love Is: The Letters of
1, 2, 3 John

(Childcare is limited)
WEDNESDAYS, January 28 - March 11
Time:  9:30 - 11:00 a.m.
Cost:  $13
Author:  Kelly Minter
Leader:  Elsa Dotson

Description:
“This is how we know what love is:  Jesus Christ laid down his life for us” (1 John 3:16).

In these 3 epistles, the Apostle John anchors us with truth in a culture that has lost its way.  He separates light from darkness, offers community for loneliness and rest for our striving.  Ultimately, he gives us the gift of assurance … that we can know that we know Jesus Christ!

In this theologically rich study, Kelly also helps us learn what real love is and how it acts … God’s love for us, and our love for God and one another.  In a unique twist, she also opens up a window to her own heart and home as she shares real family recipes and symbolic “recipes” designed to help us satisfy our hunger for deeper fellowship with one another.

Homework Commitment:  5 lessons per week, 20 to 25 minutes per lesson
