 | Crossroads Baptist Church was the vision of The First Baptist Church of The Woodlands, Tryon Evergreen Baptist Association, and The Baptist General Convention of Texas. The church began with 12 families on Easter Sunday, 1992. In May 1993, Larry A. York and his family came to The Woodlands to lead this young church. With an average of 35 people in 1993, the Crossroads family has now grown into a church with approximately 1600 members. In December of 1995, the church moved into their first building with seating for 250. Within two years the church was holding three morning worship services to accommodate the rapid growth. Not only was Crossroads experiencing internal growth, but the young church had a passion for external growth. Starting new churches locally and building their first ever church overseas paved the way for Crossroads to be known for their love of missions. In September 2000, the church moved into their new facilities providing for 500-plus people to worship together and adequate education facilities to meet the growing needs of their Bible teaching programs. Today Crossroads has a ministerial and support staff of more than 20. The days ahead promise to be an exciting time in the life of Crossroads as we seek God's direction as we continue to grow. |
