 Team Responsibilities 

Pastor & Lay Leader:
Develop a team charter that will be the guiding principles for the Church Developmental process and the Project Development Team "PDT".  Be the Spiritual Leader of the "PDT".

Function Leader:  
The Function Leader's main purpose is to communicate the strategic plan of the Church so that the programs and ministries of the church are taken into consideration during the planning process and afterward in the occupancy of the facilities. 

  • Identify each ministry of the church and its role in the overall church strategy.
  • Identify each of the lay ministry leaders of these ministries and provide the communication link for information during the process. 
  • Communicate regularly with these leaders about the process and what is going on.
  • If there are ministries or activities that are going to be eliminated during this process help identify those ministries.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as may be required by the Pastor to accomplish the Team Charter.

Finance Leader:
The Finance Leader's main function is to lead both the Finance Team and the Capital Campaign Team to unity in what the financial investment will mean to the community that the church is there to serve. 

  • Provide and understand what makes up the operating budget and the designated giving of the church. 
  • Study the financial history of the church both in operations and in giving above the tithe.
  • Help develop a long-term financial strategy for the church working with the finance team, staff and the function leader.
  • Study the sources of giving in the church and categorize by age groups and amounts for both operating budget and designated giving.  Names are not necessary in doing this.
  • Help develop the information required for banking purposes:
    o Audited financial statements for the last 5 years
    o Resumes of the key pastoral staff
    o Interview and solicit Banking Proposals for the project
  • Other duties and responsibilities as may be required by the Pastor to accomplish the Team Charter.

Facilities Leader:
The Facilities Leader's main function is to lead the planning of the new or renovated facilities based on the information developed by both the Function and Finance Leaders' information. 

  • Identify and communicate to the Design-Build Team any specific Design requirements of the church. 
  • Identify and communicate any changes in the use of the existing facilities (if applicable).
  • Identify any Furnishings, Fixtures and Equipment "FF&E" that may be needed that would be either existing or new purchases for the project and lead in those purchases. 
  • Lead in the final selection of finish materials for both exterior and interior.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as may be required by the Pastor to accomplish the Team Charter.
